The 20 most visited cities around the world in 2018

MasterCard released its annual index of the most popular cities in the world by international arrivals to tourism, and the ranking included 162 cities around the world.

Bangkok retained the number one position last year and is unlikely to change.

The 20 best and most visited cities for the year 2018 according to MasterCard,

the company calculates every visitor from abroad who is not local and classifies them as an international visitor,

Bangkok - Thailand: visited by approximately 22 million tourists

London - England: visited by approximately 20.42 million visitors

Paris - France: visited by approximately 17.95 million visitors

Dubai - Emirates: visited by nearly 16.66 million visitors

Singapore: nearly 14.47 million visitors

New York - United States: visited by approximately 13.67 million tourists

Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia: 13.53 million tourists visited

Istanbul - Turkey: visited by approximately 12.8 million tourists

Tokyo - Japan: 12.12 million tourists

Antalya - Turkey: visited by more than 11.27 million tourists

Seoul - South Korea: 10.13 million tourists visited

Phuket - Thailand: 10.13 million tourists visited

Makkah Al-Mukarramah - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Visited by approximately 9.56 million

Pattaya - Thailand: visited by 9.56 million tourists

Palma de Mallorca - Spain: 9.30 million tourists

Milan - Italy: 9.19 million

Hong Kong: 9.11 million visitors

Barcelona - Spain: 9.06 million tourists
